NOTES: ВО ВРЕМЯ (during) ВОКРУГ (around) СКВОЗЬ (through) ЧЕРЕЗ (across) В ТЕЧЕНИЕ (while) СВЕРХ (over) ИДТИ ЧЕРЕЗ ЛЕС (to walk through the forest) СИДЕТЬ ВОКРУГ КОСТРА (to sit around the fire) Notice that in the "to walk through the forest" example ЧЕРЕЗ means through. This is a good example of how imprecisely the Russian meanings for prepositions map to their English counter-parts. Also recall from the lesson that ТЕЧЕНИЕ by itself can mean flow, flowing, current, or trend.
